A Star Prize of a brand new Cherry E5, 1.8litres automatic transmission car was awarded to Mr. Ajanaku Babatunde, a staff of Ojota Senior Secondary School, who won the Best Teacher Award in the Secondary School Category by The Lagos State Ministry of Education.

She challenged the runners up in all the award categories to strive harder and remain committed to the pursuit of excellence.
In her words: “It is evident that any of you can win the star prize but be sure that others are equally interested in the feat. Thus, the competition will surely be keener in subsequent years”.
Speaking earlier, the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tunji Bello who was Chairman of the occasion said the Merit award was intended to inspire staff and students to put their best into whatever they are doing, saying “Inspiration brings out the best in all human beings”.
He, therefore, commended all the winners of the various awards, while calling on others teachers to redouble their efforts in order to become winners in future.
