21-year old Alex Iwobi, will not be playing next Friday’s 2018 World Cup qualifier against Cameroon in Uyo.
According to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Iwobi has suffered a thigh muscle strain. The Arsenal attacker will also miss the September 4 showdown against
African champions Cameroon in Yaounde.
Iwobi was to join the Super Eagles training camp on Monday, after the Arsenal vs Liverpool Premier League match on Sunday.
He featured in Nigeria’s first two World Cup qualifiers against Zambia and Algeria, scoring in a 2-1 win in Zambia in October last year.
His replacement will be CSKA Moscow striker Aaron Samuel.
