2019 Election: Serious TENSION As Police Arrests Kano Deputy Gov., Others For Disruption

The incident which took place at about 2am, on Monday, was said to be responsible for the delay in releasing the final results of the Kano State Governorship election.

Kano State Deputy Governor, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, and the Commissioner for Local Government, Mutari Sule Garo, have been arrested, for trying to disrupt the collation of results in the State.

The Deputy Governor, alongside his Aide De Camp, the Local Government Chairman, Lamin Sani, were apprehended by the Police, at the INEC Collation Centre, at Nassarawa Local Council, for allegedly destroying result sheets.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the State, Abdullahi Haruna, confirmed the arrest.

It was gathered that the two arrested men were saved from being manhandled by supporters of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Candidate, at the Collation Centre
